Guided Tour Program

​

We believe the perfect hands-on complement to the “Santa Fe Rendezvous in Council Grove” Curriculum is a visit to Council Grove.  Our office is happy to assist your school in arranging an enjoyable educational trip to our area.  You may choose between a Self-Guided Tour or a Guided Tour.  We invite you to allow us to do the “leg work” regardless of which option you chose.

 

• Self-Guided Tour:  Please view our listing of 25 Historic Sites which includes a map with each site labeled.  In addition we can provide information and recommendations for dining, lodging, attractions, and current events.  We are happy to schedule visits to area attractions.  Several sample itineraries are avilable.  All these services are free of charge.

 

 

• Guided Tours:   Many teachers prefer a guided tour.  We have many knowledgeable tour guides available to conduct tours and can schedule a tour guide for your visit.  There is a small fee of $1/student and $3/adults.  Guided tours are available for any size group, but will be charged a minimum of $30. Checks may be made payable to Chamber of Commerce and given to tour guide on the day of your field trip.

 

 

• Kaw Mission Tour: Most school groups also enjoy a visit to the Kaw Mission while they are in Council Grove.  We can make the arrangements for a visit or you may contact them directly.  There is a small fee of $1/student.  Children 5 and under are free.  Adults with a school field trip will be charged a reduced fee of only $1/adult (normally $3/adult).  One free adult with every 10 students.  Payment for this portion of the tour should be made directly to the Kaw Mission.
